In class on Monday, I noticed Parker was having some difficulty with trasfering his sloppy copy to his bare book. A bare book is a book that the students in first grade write every year that has no pictures, or writing in it, but what the students write and draw. Parker was having a hard time copying what he wrote on his sloppy copy and putting it in his bare book. How I solved this was I put his sloppy copy right next to his bare book and pointed to the words that he was writing. It seemed like he would get lost trying to find what he was writing.
If I was the teacher in this circumstance, I wouldn't be able to do this with Parker. I would give him a piece of colored paper where he could slid it to the word that he was writing and it would cover up the rest of the sentence so he wouldn't get lost. I realise that this would take a lot of time for Parker to do this, but it took probably longer for him to get lost, and find his word when he was doing it solely by himself.
